Reorder rules

A minimum that moves with the season

Every bin gets a number to stay above. Aisle proposes it from 90 days of your own sales, then raises it before the first freeze and drops it again in April.

Rules you can read out loud
Below 30, order 12 from Cobb Valley. Over $400, ask first.
Seasons per item, not per store
Heat tape climbs in October. Hose menders climb in May.

Check in a delivery against the order

Open the purchase order on a phone at the back door and count what came off the truck. Shorts and overages post to the board before the pallet is broken down.

Aisle emails the rep the same afternoon with the line and the count.
Costs update themselves
A changed case price flows into margin without a second entry.

Two stores

Move stock instead of ordering it

When one store is deep and the other is empty, Aisle says so before it writes a purchase order. Print the slip, send it on the Tuesday run, and both counts follow the box.

One catalog, two shelves
Same SKUs, separate minimums, because Grand Ave sells differently.
Transfers beat reorders
Aisle checks the other store first whenever a bin trips its minimum.

Connected

It reads your register and writes to your reps.

Sales come in on their own, orders go out the way each distributor takes them, and the bill lands in your books when the truck is unloaded.

The Sunday night you get back

Nothing here is new work. It is the same six jobs, done by the system that already knows the numbers.

Before Aisle With Aisle
  • Before Aisle Walk the store Sunday night with a clipboard and a pen. With Aisle Open the board Monday and read the five items that are low.
  • Before Aisle Three calls to three reps before the counter gets busy. With Aisle Three purchase orders went out Friday at 4 PM, already approved.
  • Before Aisle Guess the minimum on heat tape from memory, every October. With Aisle The minimum climbs on its own, from three winters of your sales.
  • Before Aisle Find out a bin is empty when a contractor asks for it. With Aisle Find out at 41 units, two weeks before the shelf can run dry.
  • Before Aisle Count the whole store over a long weekend in January. With Aisle Count one aisle each morning before the doors open.
  • Before Aisle Call the other store to ask what they have on the shelf. With Aisle See both shelves in one list and print the transfer slip.
